Still lifes
For these photos I used some halloween decorations I found around the house. I used three fake pumpkins and some candles, along with some fake leaves that I used in some other photos as well. I placed them all together so they looked sort of like a pumpkin patch. In this set of photos I wanted to show more of an autumn theme, the rest of my photos are supposed to be about the month of october, leading up to halloween. It is important to document though your photography because its entertaining to the audience and it makes them want to see more of your work.
In these second photos I used bigger pumpkins and leaves to make a more realistic looking pumpkin patch. This is a lot like the first one in terms of ideas, but I did want to make them different. I wish I could have used Jack-O-Lanterns instead, but I didn't have time. I used the leaves again because the photo seemed a little empty without them, i'm glad I continued to use them because they add a lot to my pictures. This photo represents the start of October and fall in general.
In these photos I used a basket filled with pumpkins and gourds, fall themed food. I placed the foods so they where spilling out of the basket and I put the pumpkin candles nearby for an interesting touch. I didn't use the leaves because I thought that would be too much. This kind of reminds me of thanksgiving because we have this up on our table when we eat during the holiday. This photo represents early/late October, right before halloween.
In these photos I took some more halloween decorations from around the house and put them together to create my last two photos. I took a basket and filled it with three fake skulls I found. Then I used a string of fake black leaves and put it around the bowl, and I put a candle in the background. I think the color of the candle matches the skulls and it was a good idea to put it in the photo. This picture represents the night before halloween/ the nights leading up to halloween, when things get more scary.
In these last photos I used the pumpkins from earlier photos, and combined them with more halloween decorations. I reused the black leaves from before and added fake tombstones and even a fake rat. This photo represents halloween night, and the end of october. I combined elements from all five of my photos and put them together along with some new props. I had a little trouble finding the right lighting for this photo since it was late in the day but I think it turned out good anyway.
